Trusting God Is Our Only Dawn(Isaiah 24)
May 16, 2026
"Then the moon will be abashed and the sun ashamed, for the Lord of armies will reign on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, and His glory will be before His elders." (Isaiah 24:23)
Chapters 13 through 22 of Isaiah speak of the judgments faced by the nations and the visions of the end times, while chapters 24 through 27 serve as a summary of these judgments, often referred to as "the Apocalypse of Isaiah." This passage not only prophesies the conditions of the world at the end of the age but also reminds God's chosen people that everyone—whether the common people or the priests—must face God’s righteous judgment. Therefore, in this turbulent generation, we must be all the more watchful and prepared, following closely in the footsteps of God.
"The earth is also polluted by its inhabitants, for they transgressed laws, violated statutes, and broke the everlasting covenant. Therefore, a curse devours the earth, and those who live on it are held guilty. Therefore, the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few people are left." (Isaiah 24:5-6)
The heavens, the earth, and all things were created by God and entrusted to us to manage, but people continuously destroy the world given by God due to personal gain and rebellion. In today's society, morals are depraved, values are confused, and people have abandoned God and broken the covenant made with Him, causing this land to gradually fall under a curse. Various natural disasters, human tragedies, and unsettling phenomena all serve as reminders that the day of the Lord's return is near. As children of God, we should constantly reflect on ourselves: are we still holding fast to the truth and walking in the Lord's way? When the end days arrive, will we be able to stand before God without fear and become the remnant preserved by Him? The Bible is the Word of God and our truest guide in the end times. Only by holding tightly to the truth and maintaining this pure faith can we still see the hope and light that come from God in this chaotic generation. For true hope is not found in the present, but in the eternal kingdom of God; trusting God is our only dawn and hope. As members of the true church, we cannot just listen to the word or merely say we believe with our mouths. Instead, we must bring our faith into daily life, fearing God and staying away from evil, relying on the guidance of the Holy Spirit, maintaining holiness, regularly reading the Bible, praying at all times, and attending services daily. When we allow the Lord's way to enter our lives, we can enjoy God's abundant grace in our day-to-day living.
"For so it will be in the midst of the earth among the peoples, as the shaking of an olive tree, as the gleanings when the grape harvest is over. They raise their voices, they shout for joy; they cry out from the west concerning the majesty of the Lord. Therefore glorify the Lord in the east, the name of the Lord, the God of Israel, in the coastlands of the sea. From the ends of the earth we hear songs: 'Glory to the Righteous One.'" (Isaiah 24:14-16)
Here, the leftover fruit after a harvest is used as a metaphor for the people who remain after the final judgment. Only those who conform to God's will and hold fast to the truth can stand firm in judgment. Although the path in the end times is difficult, these people consistently hold on to their faith, remain loyal to God, and patiently wait for the Lord's return; therefore, they are even more able to raise voices of praise in the midst of darkness. Just as Romans 5:3-5 tells us, those who endure to the end will be saved. Living in this chaotic generation today, we ought to value our faith, refuse to follow the trends and cultural ideologies of the world, and walk firmly on the path of truth. Though surrounded by deep darkness, God's dawn always exists. Only by marching toward the path of light can we walk with God and dwell with the Lord. We all carry the mission entrusted to us by God, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. Therefore, it is our responsibility to spread the gospel from near to far, even to the ends of the earth, proclaiming God's love and salvation.
"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and as far as the end of the earth." (Acts 1:8)
The work of evangelism does not rely on our personal strength alone, but on the guidance of the Holy Spirit. When we are willing to be blameless in our conduct, pursue holiness, and glorify God through love, faith, speech, and behavior, we can become beautiful witnesses for the Lord.
